LED-UV cures ink on the surface of the sheet as it leaves the press, instantly, with no spray powder and no drying room wait. Conventional presses cure by absorption or heat, which means a finished sheet needs time before it can be handled, trimmed, or finished.
“Jobs that once required two passes and a day of drying now come off the press finished on both sides and ready for the bindery within minutes,” said Jeromy Fritz, President of Presort, Inc. “That is a real advantage for customers working against tight deadlines and mail dates.”
That turnaround compression is a direct result of how the curing chemistry works, not a production estimate. LED-UV also runs cleanly on coated and uncoated papers, synthetic stocks, and specialty substrates that absorb ink unpredictably on conventional presses, producing vivid, high-contrast color and crisp fine detail across the full sheet. It uses substantially less energy than heat-set or traditional UV drying and generates no ozone or heat.
