What resolution should I save my photos and graphics?
For crisp, high-quality prints, save your files at 300 dpi (dots per inch).
Heads up: Images from the web are usually low-res (72–96 dpi) and will look pixelated when printed.
Also, be sure to save images in CMYK color mode for the best print results. If you only have RGB files, no worries—just let us know, and we’ll help.
What is a proof—and why should I review it?
For crisp, high-quality prints, save your files at 300 dpi (dots per inch).

Why do printed colors look different from what I see on my screen?
Screens and printers speak different color languages.
Monitors use RGB (red, green, blue) for glowing digital color, while printers use CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) for ink on paper.
Some RGB colors just can’t be replicated in CMYK, so slight shifts happen. But don’t worry—RCL is an expert at matching colors as closely as possible for a beautiful final product.
What is the Pantone Matching System (PMS)?
PMS is like the ultimate color dictionary for print. Each Pantone color has a unique number so we can precisely match your brand colors—no guessing, no surprises. It’s the gold standard for color consistency in printing.
Is white considered a printing color?
Not usually. White is the paper’s natural color, so RCL leaves it unprinted. But if you’re printing on colored stock and need white text or designs, we can print white ink to make it pop.
What file format should I use to submit my design?
PDF files are the way to go. They lock in your layout, fonts, and graphics for perfect printing. If you need help converting to PDF or setting up your file, RCL’s prepress team is here to help.
How long will it take to complete my print job?
Depending on size and complexity, some jobs are done in hours, while others may take a few days. RCL always gives you a realistic turnaround estimate upfront and works with you to meet any critical deadlines. Need a rush job? Just ask.
Do you serve clients outside of St. Louis?
Yes—we’re headquartered in St. Louis, MO, but we proudly serve clients nationwide. No matter where you’re located, we can deliver high-quality print and mail solutions right to your door.
What industries do you specialize in?
We work with corporate teams, nonprofits, real estate brokers, political campaigns, healthcare providers, manufacturers, franchises, retail brands, and more. Whether you need custom marketing materials, event signage, or secure mailings, we have the expertise and experience to deliver.
What’s the difference between digital and offset printing, and how do I know which one I need?
Digital printing is perfect for short runs, fast turnarounds, and personalized pieces, while offset printing is best for larger volumes with consistent color and finish. Not sure? RCL is here to help you choose the right option based on your project goals, budget, and timeline.
